A. Trust Administration
- Responsible for acceptance of new business and presentation to Personal Trust and EB Manager and Trust Committee for approval.
- Responsible for overall administration of assigned accounts, including trusts, estates, agencies, employee benefits, IRAs.
- For new accounts, initiates new account set-up, including receiving assets from customer, completion of new account checklist and new account report. Verifies trust operations administrator I and or clerk have proper information to set up, deposit and or transfer securities into account.
- Initiates closed account checklist and verifies trust operations administrator I and or trust clerk has proper information for transferring assets from account.
- Handles real estate property management for assigned accounts.
- Oversees securities transactions on assigned accounts.
B. Business Development - Hobbs and Surrounding Area
- Strong emphasis on outside business development activities, including customer calls, meetings, and seminars.
- Responsibility for calling on trust prospects in Hobbs and surrounding areas (some travel required).
- Oversees business development efforts by other staff members.
- Meets in bank with customers regarding trusts and investments.
- Will have quarterly or monthly calling goals.
C. Non-Voting Member of Trust Committee
- Serves as non-voting member of Trust Committee.
- Responsible for presenting information on new accounts to Trust Committee.
- Responsible for conducting annual reviews of assigned accounts.
- Reports to Trust Committee on agenda items initiated.
D. Backup for Other Department Positions
EDUCATION
Minimum: Bachelors degree in business administration, accounting, finance, investments or business-related field. May substitute five to seven years’ work experience in trust, banking, finance, investments, or related field.
Preferred: Certified trust financial advisor designation, licensed broker, CPA, or banking school background.
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
Minimum: Five to seven years work experience in trust, banking, finance, investments, or related field. Computer skills must include word processing and spreadsheets.
Preferred: Extensive knowledge of principles and practices in trust, trust administration, and/or trust operations. Familiarity with various types of accounts, some experience with investments and portfolio management.
